This practice is designed to gently guide you into your heart space, helping you connect with the truth of love and create a deep sense of self-compassion and healing.
Body Meditation
Begin by tuning into your body and observing the sensations arising in your heart, chest, and breasts. These sensations might include the following:
Tingles
Softness
Sharpness
Expansion
Contraction
Warmth
Coolness
Pressure
Speak these sensations out loud as they arise. This practice harmonizes the connections between your brain and emotional body, enabling full integration of body and mind. Stay present with these sensations even as you finish your meditation. Explore what it feels like to anchor yourself in this moment, offering yourself loving compassion throughout.
If you find it challenging to connect with your feelings, remind yourself that this might be due to not feeling completely safe to experience them. Hold yourself gently and patiently, cultivating safety and trust over time. With love and persistence, this practice will help restore a secure and compassionate relationship with yourself and your emotions.
Breathwork Basics
Breathwork is a powerful tool that shifts your focus away from the overthinking mind and into the rich, sensory world of your body. This practice connects you with the deepest layers of who you are by lowering mental control and allowing your primal, somatic self to emerge.
Tips for Starting Breathwork:
Move slowly and listen to your body.
Stop anytime you feel the need.
Emotional and physical sensations may naturally arise during this process. Meet them with love and acceptance.
Breathwork Precautions
Avoid breathwork if you are pregnant, possibly pregnant, or have medical conditions like epilepsy or cardiovascular issues. Instead, use this time for a soothing, deeper meditation.
The Heart Breath Process
The Heart Breath is focused on opening your chest and heart space. Here's how to do it:
Connected Breathing: Take a fast inhale through your mouth(more intense) or nose, followed by a relaxed exhale through your mouth. Ensure there are no pauses between breaths. Continue for 30 rounds.
Heart Focus: After the 30 breaths, inhale deeply and hold your breath for as long as is comfortable. Focus on your energetic heart, located at the center of your chest. Allow your heart to reveal its truth to you.
Repeat: Exhale when ready and repeat this process as many times as you like.
8 Directions Breath
Visualize a glowing sphere of love and energy at the center of your chest. With each inhale, this sphere expands in eight directions—forward, backward, sideways, and diagonally. On the exhale, send this love to every cell in your body.
Inhale: Feel expansion and love growing within.
Exhale: Softly release love throughout your body.
Sounding the Felt Sense
Give your heart a voice and trust its healing power through sound. Allow your sound to emerge freely as you exhale, bypassing your logical mind. This primal, heartfelt expression can release deep layers of emotional pain, such as heartbreak, abandonment, or ancestral wounds.
Body Free Flow
Allow your body to move as it desires. Begin with small movements like your hands, then flow into your arms, shoulders, or other parts of your body. Stay present with what your body is feeling.
Remember these grounding affirmations as you move and explore freedom in your body’s wisdom:
Safety
Softness
It’s safe to move, express, and feel. Even if you feel numb at first, trust that this is the first step toward deeper connection with your body.
Experiencing Universal Love
While seated or lying down, imagine yourself receiving unconditional love and support from the universe in three forms:
A feminine goddess
A masculine god
A non-gendered goddexx
Allow these energies to fill you completely with love, reminding you of the divine love always available to you. Reflect on any connections this visualization may heal, such as father or mother wounds.
Breast Massage for Grounding
Complete your practice with a grounding breast massage. Follow the Daoist directions for energy flow:
Circle your hands over your breasts down on the outside and up on the inside to release energy.
Reverse the direction, circling down on the inside and up on the outside to build energy.
Visualize releasing old energy and replacing it with clean, nourishing energy. This practice releases oxytocin, regulates your nervous system, and creates love as your body’s baseline state.
Even if you don’t have physical breasts, this energetic practice will offer the same benefits.
Integration and Reflection
Bring your practice to a close with intentional integration. Reflect on the following to ground the experience into your daily life:
Three celebrations
Three learnings
Three gratitudes
Anchor yourself with visualization techniques, such as imagining roots growing into the earth or wrapping yourself in a soothing iridescent bubble of light.
