Harness the Power of Breathwork to Transform Your Energy
Newsletter No. 7 - June 9, 2025
A few days ago, I said goodbye to my mom, sister, and niece at the Lecce Train Station after their amazing two-week visit. We explored my mountain valley, they lent a hand with our move into the new house, and we ended with a blissful week by the sea in Salento. While these days were filled with so much love and connection, the whirlwind of being a tour guide, meeting everyone’s needs, and handling the move left me utterly exhausted. By the time I waved them off at the train station, I felt completely drained. Rest alone wasn’t enough—I needed a way to reset, re-energize, and reconnect with myself.
In this photo we are enjoying the view from a restaurant deck in Pacentro; one of the best lunches we had during their trip.
Exploring a very tiny village, Roccacaramonico. Just a few years ago the number of inhabitants was two. It is now being restored and is home to another delicious restaurant…are you noticing a theme?
After we moved from our house in Sant’Eufemia a Maiella to a house in Decontra di Caramonico, we headed down to Salento to relax and swim in the sea. Here my sister is exploring the small streets of Monopoli.
I love checking out doors. Usually they are massive, but I found one just my size in Vignacastrisi.
It just so happened, I had signed up for a vertical kilometer skyrace the following morning. For those unfamiliar, in a vertical kilometer skyrace one climbs 1,000 meters uphill as fast as possible. While this might seem like pure physical endurance, these races are deeply rooted in mindfulness, demanding intentional, rhythmic breathing with each step. They are, in essence, breathwork in motion. This rhythm transforms the effort into a meditative practice, stirring energy and allowing long-held sensations and emotions to release.
On the climb, my sole focus became my breath. With every inhale and exhale, I visualized the energy flowing through me, circulating and rising. I consciously channeled feelings of joy and possibility, quieting the fatigue and doubt that lingered in my mind. By the time I crossed the finish line, I felt not just accomplished but deeply renewed. The experience wasn’t just about physical exertion; it was about reclaiming my connection to my body and breath, lifting my energy, and easing my mental burdens.
I was surprised I got myself to the start line. Finishing second surprised me even more!

The truth is, you don’t need to run up 1,000 meters of mountain to experience this kind of transformation. The practice of pranayama, or breathwork, can guide you toward the same sense of balance and renewal. Prana, the Sanskrit word for life force energy, is the foundation of breathwork. By intentionally working with your breath, you can activate your nervous system to regulate, reset, and infuse your life with vibrant energy.
Whether you’re seeking clarity, a deeper connection to yourself, or a way to quiet the chaos, breathwork is a powerful practice to help you shift from overwhelmed to grounded. It allows you to tap into reserves of energy you didn’t know you had, releasing old, stagnant emotions and leaving space for something new and revitalizing.
This is why I integrate breathwork into my coaching. It’s more than a tool—it’s an entryway to creating meaningful rituals that energize your life, deepen embodiment, and build emotional resilience. Together, we can unlock your energy in ways that support your growth and align with your truth.
While we were in Salento, Ryan turned 40! To celebrate, we rode our bikes to Castro to catch the sunrise. It did not disappoint! You can see Greece in the distance.
On the way back we rode through countless fields of wild poppies and olive groves. It was a special day to acknowledge all the work and devotion it has taken to be where we are today, both physically and emotionally.
You can’t finish a bike ride without a little dip in the clear blue waters of the Adriatic Sea. This is just south of Castro.
My message for you this week:
Take a moment today to pause, breathe intentionally, and listen to your body. It’s a simple yet profound act that can transform your mood and energy from within. And, if you’re ready to explore this practice even further, I would love to support you through my private coaching. Together, we’ll create empowering rituals to help you find more vibrancy, joy, and ease in your life.
